Delete the repository on Github Pages, recreate and DNS does not update

I heard about Github Pages and decided to check the service and acquired a domain name. I’m not very experienced, so I was following step-by-step what to do. I made the necessary settings, created the CNAME in the repository and confirmed the settings in my DNS Provider. It didn’t work. I realized that my CNAME had the wrong domain and changed the file to the correct name, but when I entered my address (in this case, bonsaicc.github.io), it continued pointing to the previous address. I waited a few hours and deleted the repository and recreated it with the same name, with the correct CNAME. However, he keeps pointing to the address I misspelled.

My questions are as follows: 1- Is it normal to take so long to update after changing the CNAME? 2- Deleting and recreating the repository, I may have made a mistake?

Thank you!
