I’m trying to use Visual Studio Code on Ubuntu 16.04 x64, but I was not successful.

I tried to install via . deb package and the whole procedure apparently went well. But when trying to open the program already installed, the screen is as follows:

I then downloaded the file . zip, extracted everything and tried to run the program from there, but also got the same result.

In addition to these two attempts, I resorted to ubuntu-make, but once again I got the same result.

In my research I found nothing that could help me get off this screen.

After all, how can I use Visual Studio Code on my Linux?

Try opening the program with sudo to see if it works.

  • Unfortunately the same thing happens...

  • Have you checked if any packages are missing? It looks like you have a problem or are missing something in the graphics library

  • I’m still beginner in Linux (I’m trying to expand horizons, rsrsrs...), but from what I could see via package . deb wasn’t supposed to be missing anything, right? The only strange thing I noticed was a warning in this image: http://i.imgur.com/Lnmquqm.png

  • I’m suspicious it might be something in the O.R., because the Atom was also in the same way.

  • How does Chromium look in this Ubuntu of yours? The computer is virtual or physical?

  • I’m using it in the Virtual Box, I’m testing the Chromium...

  • Tries to install by application manager.
