Why is uploading images to my Digitalocean server so slow?

I’m running a Java application using Play! Framework on my Digitalocean droplet. However, when uploading images through the browser I realize that the request is very slow and uploading an image of ~2MB is taking ~1-2 minutes to happen.

Does anyone know why this problem happens?

Speak up. Guy, in the community DO have some guys recommending to execute the command ifconfig eth0 txqueuelen 10000 to force the upload rate increase for every droplet you own. However, there is not much information about which settings the environment in which this command was performed. If you have a blz test droplet.

Before, it may be interesting to test your internet provider’s upload rate, as it may occur that DO Servers are accepting more than your upload can send.

Run some tests on http://speedtest-nyc1.digitalocean.com/, or on this page, choose the region where your droplet is and redo the down and up tests of your internet provider.

In the latter case, open a ticket with them, the team as often as I requested, has always been very professional, and even with my shameless English, I was well served.

PS: Maybe your droplet had a different network interface than eth0, if it happens, change the interface to test the first paragraph command.
