I installed SSMS 2016 (Sql Server Management Studio) days ago on my PC but I can’t create a local database.

The only thing I do is connect with a database I hosted on Azure, but when I go to create a local BD gives error with the following message:

TITLE: Connect to Server
------------------------------

Cannot connect to WKSIPLAB_A10.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)

Only with this information no one will be able to help you, you have to detail what you are doing.

  • What I’m doing is creating a local database on sql server 2016 from the data engine of course, but I can’t....

  • The question is clear and sufficient. I could understand and answer. Disconnect with the closing.
