Hello guys I’m trying to put a website online through a domain I’ve already created, it already gave me ready FTP settings with a folder so I can upload the files I want. The problem is that when I try to access the files from the folder in which I put,it gives the following errors :

404 Not Found :

The requested URL /localizazao.html was not found on this server.

403 Forbidden :

You don’t have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an Errordocument to Handle the request.

I’d like to know how to solve this problem, so I can put my website online. The folder I’m accessing this call as public_html inside it is my files for me to access. In case you need more information to try to fix my problem I will carefully post more specific logs of the problem.

PHP version : 5.2

Apache version : 2.2.19

is saved exactly with this same spelling? and is everything in lowercase?

If it doesn’t disturb anything, put the domain here in the comments, for us to test, and then you delete. Also save a page index.html, with some different contents of this inside the folder, for testing.

The domain looks like : 7soft.com.br.

put the index.html there in the hosting, inside the public_html, and make sure it is all with read permission.

  • 1

Yes,I’ve done this, index.html is inside public_html,along with other files, the problem is exactly this,it doesn’t let me access the server, giving the 403 and 404 errors

may be wrong permission in folders. The right thing is for you to see who set up the hosting. Make sure folders are read-only for the Apache user.

I’m using free hosting, since this site is only for my Course Completion Work, but the hosting I’m using is good,I thought the same as you, must be error in permissions, now where finding the wrong permission is the problem.

Unfortunately, as much as we want to help, I think it’s a little outside the scope of the site. It would be nice for you to see someone who knows this kind of setup who could help you get there and see the real problem. Unfortunately it can be so much different, that around here the most that gives is us to go kicking alternatives in the comments.

All right, buddy, but thanks for trying to help me out, I’ll try to talk to other people I know who can handle these Apache and PHP settings. But still thank you for your attention to my problem.

Then friend ended up seeing that that domain 7soft.com.br I could only use if I paid, I mean, I’m not allowed to use it,I tested another domain and it worked. Thank you for having responded to me :)
