I need to migrate a website WordPress (Woocommerce) from Hostgator to Digital Ocean. However, I cannot access the folder wp-content. I already backed up the entire site via Hostgator, but it comes empty. I installed a plugin for backup in Dropbox, but when it arrives in the folder wp-content, an error occurs and the backup does not happen. The folder is allowed 755.

Citation 11:43:52: A fatal error occured: The backup is having Trouble uploading files to Dropbox, it has failed 10 times and is aborting the backup. Citation 11:43:52: Processed 11 files. 11:43:52: Error uploading '/home/banil436/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyfifteen/404.php' to Dropbox: Expecting a file upload

Some tip to make this migration without losing any information (orders, customers, etc)?

  • Do you know the size of the folder? You even poke around via ftp to see if there is anything strange inside?

  • @brasofilo ta normal site working, well this part together with hostgator I am following by far another person this seeing, but what happened to me is that at first I was not allowed to move this folder via ftp, ai flw in support and they moved, sent to backup the entire site, however when I went to the folder I said I had no permission, so via terminal I gave permission 777 but opened it and was empty ... The briefcase is about 100 megas.

  • It seems that the problem is more serious than a simple backup plugin, no?

  • Well, I’ll detail what I need. A friend has a website at hostgator is a store and it is working right, but we will migrate to digitalocean where I have already prepared the server this everything ok, la na digitalocean I configured everything with another domain that was stopped, not to take the current store from the air, Then I want to migrate all content from the current one to the new one I try and if I have everything ok I have the domain too, but then this problem I am not getting makes the backup of the content to take to the new server ... Especially the wp-content folder whenever it comes to it from the problem. @brasofilo

  • Tried to zip everything via Webftp on Hostgator? (this would be for a manual transfer, but it looks like the first problem is to get things out of there)

  • @brasofilo was made a general backup on hostgator, came zipped open the file I hunted the wp-content folder at first tried to open flw that I was not allowed, so I found it via temrinal and gave permission, but when opened it was empty ... Using plugin tb did not resolve the backup error when it arrives in wp-content folder

  • That is, the zip is corrupting at source? At Hostgator? Check the WP admin if there’s nothing strange in the media library, maybe some upload zited everything... (?)

  • It seems to be corrupting, but just this folder rs ... It is in hostgator .... In the media part of WP the only thing difirerente of images are CSV files with the products of the store. @brasofilo
