I currently have a server Tomcat running on a machine with Windows Server 2012. But I got some tips from some friends from Infra where they say the Tomcat in the Linux has better performance. So I came up with these doubts:

  1. What are the pros and cons of using Tomcat on these platforms?
  2. In which of the two there is greater performance?

  1. The pro of using Windows Server is Microsoft support. The pros of using Linux are Security, Stability, Price (don’t have to pay for licenses, and if it’s third-party hosting the price is lower too), Performance.

  2. As shown in the graphs of the article proposed by Giancarlo Abel Giulian, Linux is better overall.
