I have a question about uploading files, I have to create folders for each client and save files from them (word files, excel, txt, dwg, dxf, ascii, pdf) ?

It would be feasible to store all this for each client in an online directory or would have the possibility to save on a pc in the office and use the folders stored on that pc to be accessed on other pcs with online system?

It’s keeping me up at night.

  • From what I understand you need to create folders for each file type, it’s not even?

  • would be a folder: Nameserver that will have the files uploaded may be from any or all of the mentioned extensions... my fear is my hosting get very slow access

  • See if this article can help you,

  • if I store these files in the bd would be a good?? or in the directory would be better????

Viable and more stable, is to upload it to the same server (online).

Server / Online

Of course, in an organized way. For example:

/diretorio_de_upload/clientes/id-do-cliente/tipo-do-arquivo/arquivo.ext

So at least everything is organized by client and file type.

Office computer

To do this, you’ll have to set up much more things, for example:

  • Configure the router to allow connections
  • Configure port-based connection redirect
  • Configure access permissions (annoying / dangerous)
  • Keep it on at all times
  • And if you want to make it a little more complicated, set up a DNS on it and allow it to be accessed directly through a host/domain: quote, you are setting up a server in the office

In short

The most practical, simple and fast without a doubt is to keep online.

Custo x Benefício

Maybe because of the amount of files / access it is better you get some server that provides you with this on demand.

I advise reading/studying/checking Amazon servers (AWS): http://aws.amazon.com/s3/

I like this idea of Amazon (AWS)
