Good,
I needed to put the arrows on my carousel that are meant to change the image over the carousel this way:
I already used the z-index and tried to change the display but it is not on top of the image.
Here comes my code:
var slideIndex = 1;
showDivs(slideIndex);
function plusDivs(n) {
  showDivs(slideIndex += n);
}
function showDivs(n) {
  var i;
  var x = document.getElementsByClassName("mySlides");
  if (n > x.length) {slideIndex = 1}
  if (n < 1) {slideIndex = x.length}
  for (i = 0; i < x.length; i++) {
    x[i].style.display = "none";
  }
  x[slideIndex-1].style.display = "block";
}.mySlides {
    display: none;
    width: 100%;
}
.botao {
    z-index: 2;
    position: inherit;
    display:
}
.slideshow {
    z-index: -1;
