My goal is to insert a background image that can be written over with <h2>, <p>
etc above it, but without using the position: Absolute because it interferes with page sub-menus by displaying text and etc above them when displayed !!

Here follows an example, using background-size: cover
, it resets the size to be supported inside the container you want, in this whole case <section>
, even if you have to stretch the image or cut a bit of it:
.main-section{
background-image: url(https://i.imgur.com/ODmMf1p.jpg);
background-size: cover;
height: 400px;
color: #FFFFFF;
text-align: center;
}
.main-section h2{
font-size: 30px;
}
.main-section p{
font-size: 20px;
}
<section class="main-section">
<h2>Título Aqui</h2>
<p>Texto Aqui</p>
<section>

}
