Site in a kind of app

I am curious, an operator in Portugal (MEO) created a kind of application in which we were able to access the client area, but instead of installing it, in the browser we log in and click on the button "Add to main screen" and it creates a direct access icon on the mobile phone home, but unlike my websites when I click on this Bhutan, it still generates an icon but when I open the browser bar and the MEO one it no longer happens, even when we see the open apps at once The name of the browser appears "My MEO"

How I do this kind of site?

  • Post the link to see !

  • All described above is PWA. When you open a PWA by pinned icon on the desktop or apps, it opens Chrome in full screen automatically, just to be with "app face". And it works offline, as long as you implement the Workers service

This is called PWA (Progressive Web App), a set of techniques for developing Web applications that progressively add features that were previously only possible in native apps, it unites the best of the web with the best of a native application.

Perks:

  • Speedy
  • Secure
  • Enveloping
  • Responsive
  • Uses less data
  • No network connection required (after installed)
  • No need for an app store or download or upgrade
  • A single source code for all systems (desktop, tablet and mobile)

Disadvantages:

  • Pwas do not yet have full control over the device hardware: bluetooth, contact list and NFC, are some examples of Features that cannot be accessed by Progressive Web Apps
  • Although Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla are all over the Pwas, Apple is still not. There are still two important features not supported by Safari: push Notifications and offline operation. But, Apple is already considering implementing Pwas, even because she may not have much choice.

  • I didn’t understand the -1 they gave you, but that’s it. Just need to see if it wasn’t by copy & Paste without credits - I was responding, but it was going to be basically the same thing you said.

  • By coincidence, this week I did many tests with PWA.

  • Ahuahauaua, I already had that answer in another question (my answer), then it was quick

  • Maybe it was the case of closing as duplicate? It has the easy link?

  • Not duplicate, I commented on pwa in the answer to a question about source protection

  • Actually it’s dup of this one, I now found https://answall.com/q/290719/70
