When I try to start an AVD with Android 4.0+ on the Windows of my two laptops does not work, but with Linux it works.
The screen turns black, not even enter the Android opening screen even leaving open for hours. I could never make it work, I think it’s something you have to do...
Some solution?

I made a brief tutorial on how to create a partition in AVD.
1º - Always Run AVD as Windows Administrator.
2nd - Click on New to create a partition of Emulator.
3º - Configure it to your Criteria, but I always recommend "AVD Name" by the version of Android in which the API.
Ex: 4.1.2
4th - Start your Emulator.
ABS: If you have a powerful computer use the Genymotion Create your account For free, it is the best emulator in my opinion, I used it in the company where I worked.
I know how to create... That was not the answer but I’ll take the tip of Genymotion

Felipe, instead of using an AVD, take a look at Genymotion. It is a solution that abstracts the use of Virtualbox, with various device settings and SDK’s, and is faster than using the Android emulator.
