It is possible to define spending limits within an Azure subscription by Resource Groups?

Ex.:

  1. Subscription 1 - 500 USD
    • Resource Group 1 - 100 USD
    • Resource Group 2 - 400 USD

NAO, It is not possible to limit the spending of a resource group. At least not via RG configuration, either portal or PS.

There is the way to create a prepaid subscription, in this you will have spending limits per period, but to have a subscription of this, it is necessary to pre-purchase a good volume of credits - something close to USD 12K/year - it is not certain that, necessary to check.

BUT, you can develop something to help with that. A combination of Azure Functions + Azure Powershell should do the job.
