In that link we have one more global chat room. The interesting thing is that it seems to use google map. Could someone clarify what the technology is involved in creating an application like this?
I know it sounds a little subjective and with chances of being closed, but it’s a question anyway.

Possibly it is javascript and Googlemaps api, if you check the source code you will see that it is only Javascript, now the backend part, can be PHP, RUBY, JAVA, NODE.JS, Nosql database language, or even relational, but I believe it is only javascript using sockets.

It’s probably google-maps-api combined with a proprietary technology that uses Websocket. Summing up not everything is "ready", most things are "created".
