The jira is a great tool to track bugs and stories, but is paid.
Someone knows a free and online compatible tool?

I have worked on some projects using the Trello.
If you’re not looking for something as far-fetched as jira, it’s an option to consider.
Another tool I was able to use was the Mantis, however, I only used in a company I worked. I do not know how is made the configuration of it.

Trello has the layer free, but also options of upgrade for companies or more complex use of the tool.

Correct, @utluiz, but as he looks for something free, I did not fall into this question because I found it unnecessary to the question. Anyway, our discussion ends up enriching the question. ;)

Perfect, it was just to complement. The option of upgrade is even an advantage because it allows to invest after the tool is already in use.

For those who use the Bitbucket repository, they provide a system for incident control, free, simple and private. A great option.

Good morning - I confess that I know a tool, but unfortunately the free period is not available forever.. http://kanbantool.com -Besides, I think that Kanban offers many opportunities and organizes a lot of his professional life. I’ve been using the Redmine in my projects with teams of more than 15 users, and it meets my requirements very well, come:
- Issue tracking, identifying what is bug, improvement or new functionality
- Support for system versions
- Support for sub projects, when you divide the system into modules
- System Documentation and Wikis
- Roadmaps
- Integration with your source repository
- Plugin system to expand with new features

I agree that it would be nice to have a free plan, but 10 dollars a month for a team of 10 people with all the infrastructure ready in the cloud ends up being much cheaper to maintain a system "at home", because without counting the hardware and energy, the time investing in maintenance and security can pass in many times the cost of a Saas online. Warning: I work at Atlassian, but consider that this concept of cloud outsourcing is universally recognized.

I’ve worked with several tools but like Jira I haven’t seen any yet. What I have implemented where I work is the use of http://www.redmine.org/ + https://getbrimir.com/ + Trello. Redmine and Brimir are for Ruby on Rails and run on an internal server. Trello is via the Internet anyway.
