Returning Value Inside Wordpress Post Type

Question

I need to return values to be displayed in the columns of the post type, but I’m not able to return anything, as should be done?

It all depends on the way you will save and work with the options.

• Category is a custom taxonomy and in case you can use get_the_term_list().
• Dates looks like a custom field and can be recovered with get_post_meta().
• Times is the same as Dates.
• Thumbnail if it is the native Wordpress option is possible with get_the_post_thumbnail().
• Event which is the title just use get_the_title().
• Description must be the excerpt or the content of the editor... For both cases you have options.
  • excerpt: get_the_excerpt().
  • editor: get_the_content().
  • in addition to which it can pick up without functions by the object passed in $post.

Here’s a practical example of everything I said:

To answer by Claudio Sanches is exactly what you need, but I’ll make a Code Review:

• It is not necessary to have two add_action( 'init', ... );, put it all together in one.

• You also don’t need to prioritize zero: add_action( 'init', ..., 0 );, This is for special cases.

• The hook manage_posts_custom_column has two parameters: column and post_id. So, with priority ten (default), gets like this:

  add_action ( 'manage_posts_custom_column', 'tf_events_custom_columns', 10, 2 );
  function tf_events_custom_columns( $column, $post_id ) { ... }
  

  In your case, you need to access global $post to catch the post_content. But if I didn’t need that content, did not need to call the global variable because the ID that is used in several parts is already passed in the hook.
