What is "wildfly"
Wildfly, also known as Jboss, is a Java EE application server developed in Java and can run on any 32 or 64 bit operating system that has Java support.
The main reason for the change was that the similarity between the Jboss Application Server (AS) and the Jboss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) and other products in the Jboss portfolio caused a little confusion between them. There was then a vote in the Jboss community to decide the new name of the community project. Many names were suggested (more than 1500 names, according to Mark Little, CTO of Red Hat’s Middleware division) and after a pre-selection five names were selected for community voting. Wildfly was the most voted name among several others, the change of names was officially announced at Judcon Brazil 2013 in São Paulo and later Mark Little posted on his blog the announcement.
