What is "virtual-machine"

One virtual machine or the original in English virtual machine, is an implementation of a computational environment where you can install and run an operating system. Basically the virtual machine emulates a physical computer, where the CPU, memory, disk, network and other requests hardware are managed by virtualization layer, which translates these requests to the hardware original.
