What is "vbscript"
Vbscript (Visual Basic Script) is an interpreted version of the Visual Basic language used in Active Server Pages (ASP) for tasks and dynamic construction of HTML page, and Windows Scripting Host (WSH) to facilitate the construction of tools by technicians or automated tasks.
Vbscript is often used in place of batch files, being a more advanced and practical option. Vbscript uses the Component Object Model to access the elements of the environment in which it is running, which allows the use of advanced Operating System functions, such as for file manipulation or Windows registry.
Vbscript is available by default since Windows 98, where the WSH environment was already installed with language support.
