What is "skype"

Skype is a software that allows communication over the Internet through voice over IP connections (Voip). It belongs, since May 2011, to Microsoft. It was initially created by the Danish Janus Friis and the Swedish Niklas Zennström while working at the firm Kazaa.

  • Encrypted (not secure because it is not possible to generate and/or confirm the digital certificate).
  • It may require configuration on some antivirus and firewalls, which block access doors.
