What is "samba"
Samba is a "server software" for Linux (and other Unix-based systems) that allows the management and sharing of resources on networks formed by Windows computers. Thus, it is possible to use Linux as a file server, print server, among others, as if the network used Windows servers (NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003). With it it is possible to share files, share printers and control access to certain network resources with equal or greater efficiency than servers based on Microsoft operating systems; All work done by Samba is provided with great security, since there is great rigor in the controls of the offered resources. So much so that there are companies that use Samba as a solution to existing conflicts between different versions of Windows.
