What is "rtf"

The RTF, acronym for Rich Text Format or Rich Text Format, is a document file format developed and owned by Microsoft since 1987 for document exchange between various platforms, preferably in Wordpad.

Most word processors are able to read and write RTF documents. Unlike most text processing formats, RTF is a readable format (Human-readable).
