What is "plone"

Plone is a content management system (CMS) written in the Python language and running on a Zope Application Server and on the CMF (Content Management Framework)).

Plone can be used to build information portals on intranets, extranets and the Internet. It can also be used to build document publishing systems or even as a tool for collaborative work. Plone runs on virtually any platform.
