What is "pentaho"

Pentaho is a software for Business Intelligence, developed in Java. The solution covers the areas of ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load), Reporting, OLAP and data mining (data-Mining).

Pentaho has two versions, a commercial, known as Pentaho Business Analytics and an open-source denomidana version Pentaho Community Edition

Pentaho consists of the following components::

1. Pentaho Data Integration: also known as Kettle, is an open source data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) tool

2. Pentaho Analysis Services: also known as Mondrian OLAP server, is an open source tool for Online Analytical Processing (OLAP)

3. Pentaho Reporting: derivative of the project Jfreereport h

4. Pentaho Data Mining: derivative of the project Weka, a set of tools related to data mining
