What is "numbers"

Number is a mathematical object used to describe quantity, order or measure.

The concept of number was probably one of the first mathematical concepts assimilated by humanity in the counting process.

For this, the natural numbers were a good start. The work of mathematicians led us to discover other types of numbers. The integers are an extension of the natural numbers that include the negative integers. Rational numbers, in turn, include fractions of integers. Real numbers are all rational numbers plus irrational numbers.
