- Version 1.00
- Version 2.00
- Version 3.10 (Current)
The ICMS Protocol 42/09 aims to scale the expansion of the mandatory use of NF-e so that, by the end of 2010, all ICMS taxpayers who fit in at least one of the following situations are reached by this obligation:
- Develop an industrial activity;
- Engage in wholesale or distribution trade;
- practise exit of goods to another Federation unit;
- Supply goods to the Public Administration.
The mandatory issuance of electronic invoice includes companies of all sizes, including those opting for Simples Nacional.
In the official website of the project is a document that defines the behavior of information systems for the processing of electronic notes in the state finance departments. The specification defines the use of open technology standards, not imposing the use of any proprietary solution. Among the many advantages of using open standards, we take advantage of the developers' previous knowledge acquired in other activities that used the same technologies, even if they are not related to the electronic invoice. Among the main technologies involved are:
- Webservices
- XML
- Certificates X.509
- Soap 1.2
