What is "mouse"
The mouse is an indicator device (in English, 'Pointing device') that serves to move a cursor on the screen, allowing select, move and manipulate objects thanks to buttons. It is called click, the action of pressing (click) a button to effect an action.
There are several types of mice, classified according to the positioning technology and according to the data transmission to the central unit. We can distinguish several large families from mice:
- The mechanical mice, the operation of which is based on a ball (plastic or rubber) embedded in a chassis (plastic) which transmits the movement with two rollers;
- The opto-mechanical mice, the operation of which is similar to that of mechanical mice, but the movement of the ball is detected by optical captors;
- The optical mice, capable of determining movement by visual analysis of the surface on which they slide.
