What is "methodology"

Methodology is the study of methods. The steps to follow in a given process.

It aims to capture and analyze the characteristics of the various indispensable methods, evaluate their capabilities, potentialities, limitations or distortions and criticize the assumptions or implications of their use.

In addition to being the study of methods, the methodology is also considered a way to conduct research or a set of rules for teaching science and art.

The Methodology is the thorough, detailed, rigorous and exact explanation of every action developed in the method (path) of the research work. This is the explanation of the type of research, of the instruments used (questionnaire, interview, etc.), of the expected time, of the team of researchers and of the division of labor, of the forms of tabulation and treatment of the data, in short, of everything that was used in the research work.
