What is "menu"

A menu is a user interface engine that provides the user with a means to view and perform application operations. Menus can be simple lists, or they can be hierarchical with sub-menus. Typical menu types include menus drop-down which are accessed from a menu bar and context menus which are accessed by clicking on a control. Menus often have shortcut keys that offer the user a quick way to open a menu or perform a menu operation.
