What is "jira"
Jira is commercial software developed by the Australian company Atlassian. It is a tool that allows monitoring tasks and monitoring projects ensuring the management of all your activities in one place.
A Jira Project is a grouping of tasks (Issues), and is defined according to the organization and its needs. Examples of Jira projects:
- A software development project
- A marketing campaign
- control of help desk calls
- Control of ITIL processes
Jira is based on Java EE operating in various databases and operating systems. The tool also features adaptive control panels, search filters, statistics, RSS and email.
Atlassian provides Jira free of charge for open source projects that meet certain criteria and for nonacademic, non-commercial, non-governmental, nonpolitical, non-profit organizations. For academic and commercial customers, the full source code is available under a developer source license
