What is "ios"

The iOS is the mobile operating system of Apple Inc. originally developed for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and Apple TV (from 2nd).

The operating system was announced on Macworld Conference & Expo on 9 January 2007, although at that time it was called iPhone OS.
