Infotypes are existing information units in the Human Resource Management System.

Registering employee data for administrative, time and payroll purposes is of fundamental importance for the administration of master data in HR. In the R/3 System, the information units used for master data entry are called infotypes.

The infotypes are used to group related data fields. Infotypes provide structured information, facilitate data entry and allow data recording for specific periods.
