What is "ejb"

Enterprise Javabeans (EJB) is a component of the JEE platform that runs in a container of an application server.

Its main objective is to provide a fast and simplified development of Java applications, based on distributed, transactional, secure and portable components.

Currently, in version 3.1, EJB has its future defined jointly between large companies such as IBM, Oracle and HP, as well as by a vast community of programmers in a worldwide network of collaboration under the portal of JCP.
