What is "edi"
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange, Electronic Exchange of Data in Portuguese), is a commercial standard for structured file exchange. These files have documentation of their content, which can include multiple headers (headers) or even trailers (footer equivalent). Each line of information is called the Detail Record and all lines with this information have the same number of characters. A good example of this type of file is FEBRABAN’s CNAB that has models of 240, 400 and 1000 positions, standardizing the exchange of files between companies and banks or between banks.
