What is "blob"

A blob (Binary Large Object, basic large Object, BLOB or Blob, meaning binary large object or basic large object in literal translation), is a collection of binary data stored as a single entity in a database management system. Blobs are usually image, audio, or other multimedia objects, although sometimes binary executable code is stored as a blob. Database block support is not universal.
