What is "bitmap"

Bitmap (meaning bitmap) are images that contain the description of each pixel, as opposed to vector graphics. The treatment of images of this type requires specialized tools, generally used in photography, as they involve very complex calculations, such as interpolation, matrix algebra. A bitmap can be monochrome, grayscale or colored. Pixels are usually formed in the RGB standard, from Red, Green, Blue, which uses three integers to represent the colors red, green, and blue or RGBA, when the format has transparency (A being the alpha level of each pixel). For printed media bitmap or raster images use CMYK color mode (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black).
