What is "advpl"
The programming language ADVPL - Advanced Protheus Language was created in 1994 for the development of the ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning enterprise management systems of the TOTVS S/A. group It is an extension of the xbase/Clipper standard of commands and functions, operators, flow control structures and reserved words, also with functions and commands provided by TOTVS.
It is used in the customizations of the ERP - Protheus system. This system serves thousands of companies in Brazil and other countries, mainly in Latin America. Protheus software has database independence, so it can connect to other software such as Oracle, Postgresql, DB2 etc, and also has operating system independence running on both Windows and Linux (although only older versions) in addition to other approved operating systems.
The knowledge of the use of this language allows the elaboration of customizations and the development of new solutions.
All documentation regarding the ADVPL language and the TOTVS Erps can be found on the website: http://tdn.totvs.com.br/
