Actionscript 3 is the third version of Actionscript, an object-oriented scripting language based on Ecmascript, used primarily for building RIA applications. Released in June 2006, version 3.0 of Actionscript was arrived in conjunction with the Adobe Flex 2.0 development environment and Flash Player 9. A language restructuring with a new virtual machine.
